Restoring Soil for Plant Growth.

April 23, 2019

Soil Restoration:

Soil restoration is the process of returning nutrients back to the soil. When done properly soil restoration will help control erosion, compaction and benefit water holding capacity for all soil types.

In our region soil preparation should start with a minimum of 3-5 yards per 1000 square feet of composted manure to the area being sodded. Manure helps balance soil and adds missing nutrients needed for plant growth and health.

It is best to rip into the soil safely as deep as possible then spread compost manure over the area sodding then till in compost as deep as possible. Any tilling of the soil will be advantageous.

Proper soil preparation is the foundation of greater plant growth, health and longevity.
