  • It is highly recommended that you fertilize with Turf Master’s High Phosphorus fertilizer at the time of installation.

  • Each lawn has different fertilization needs depending on the sod type, environmental conditions, soil type, and maintenance.

  • The first fertilization of the year should be done in March and the last fertilization in mid-October.

  • Bluegrass typically needs fertilization 4 - 5 times per year.

  • Fescue, Fescue blends, and Turf Master Enviroturf™ typically need fertilization 2 - 3 times per year.

  • Canadian Blue Fescue™ typically needs fertilization 1 - 2 times per year.

  • Call or come by Turf Master to find out what Turf Master Fertilizer blend is currently recommended for your lawn.

Our Fertilizers

Turf Master High Phosphorous

  • New sod-starter fertilizer; for all types of sod

  • Coverage:

    • Covers up to 5 to 6,000 sq ft

  • Application:

    • Bluegrass: Apply in June or August

    • Fescue, Enviroturf™, & Canadian Blue Fescue™: Apply in Spring or Fall

Turf Master Blend with Iron

  • Spring, Summer, or Fall; for all turf types

  • Coverage:

    • Covers up to 8 to 10,000 sq ft on fescue and fescue blends

    • Covers up to 6,000 sq ft on Bluegrass

  • Application: 

    • Apply in April, May, August, September, October

Turf Master Slow Release

  • Spring or Fall; for all types of sod

    • For Fescue, Enviroturf™, Canadian Blue Fescue™, and Nature's Prairie Turf™

  • Coverage:

    • Covers up to 8 to 10,000 sq ft on fescue and fescue blends

    • Covers up to 6,000 sq ft on Bluegrass

  • Application:

    • Great for Fall application to keep your sod healthy through the winter!

Crab Grass Pre-M

  • Coverage:

    • Covers up to 3 to 5,000 sq ft

  • Application:

    • For all types of new sod: Apply in May, Jun

    • Existing lawns: Apply in February, March, early April

    • Apply at installation to reduce weed pressure

    • If necessary, follow-up in mid-June at half the regular application rate!

  • Uses:

    • Use to rid lawn of barnyard grass/water/grass

    • Use to control germinating weeds for up to 90 days 

*Fertilizing is not recommended in July, unless you use Turf Master High Phosphorous.
