Watering Lawn in Winter.

Water awareness in winter months is important for grass plants. When water in the form of snow is infrequent and the dryness of winter sets in along with warmer temperatures it is a good idea to water your lawn.

In our region the winter months of November, December and January tend to be the drier months of the year. Coupled with wind and warm temperatures water is necessary for all lawn types new and established.

A good rule of thumb in winter is to water a quarter of an inch once a month. Water in the warmth of the day with hose and sprinkler.

Watering your lawn in winter will also benefit the rest of your landscape plants.
